The design

The Chibite design

Chibite is an independently developed card collection that reinterprets classic recipes in a clear, colourful comic style.

The name combines "Chibi" - the Japanese word for "small" or "cute" - with "bite", standing for the playful union of design and cuisine. All illustrations are originals, inspired by Japanese aesthetics.

Questions

Common questions

What's the difference between a recipe and an ingredients card?+
The recipe card shows the finished dish with the recipe - method, ingredients and quantities. The ingredients card shows all the individual ingredients as a colourful detailed illustration - no recipe, but even more imagery. Both in the same style and A6 format.
What's the difference between Chibite and Classique?+
Chibite is a modern, colourful comic style with clear shapes and a Japanese aesthetic - playful. Classique is more classic, more detailed and warmer. Both show the same dish, just in a different drawing style.
What format is the card and how is it printed?+
A6 format (105 × 148 mm) - about postcard size, printed to a high quality on sturdy card. Ideal for sending, hanging in the kitchen, as a gift insert or a collector's card.
Can I send the card as a postcard?+
Yes - A6 matches the standard postcard format. The back is blank: write on it directly and send with a normal stamp.
Does the card make a good gift?+
Yes - ideal as an addition to an invitation, a present from Switzerland or a small gift for fans of Swiss cuisine. CHF 4.50 - no effort, big effect.
